Hula school offers night of Hawaiian dance, music

 Ho’ike 2014, an evening of  Hawaiian music and hula, will be presented by local hula school Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and Halau Kahulaliwai of Kalispell.

The event is June 21 at 7 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.

The show will feature Kamanawa, a group of Hawaiian musicians from Oahu, as well as dancers featuring traditional ancient styles, remembering Pele the fire goddess, as well as modern dances that represent the parades of the Hawaiian islands. 

Advanced tickets for $18 for adults, $10 for students and children. The day of the show, tickets are $20 and $12. 

Tickets are available at The Paper Chase, 7 E. Oregon St. in Kalispell and Crystal Winters, 232 Central Ave. in Whitefish.
