LPOSD approves $30.1M budget

SANDPOINT — The Lake Pend Oreille School Board voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt a $30.1 million budget for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Uncertainty from Boise and the loss of a major employer in town added up to a complicated and protracted budgeting process this year. Despite the unusual challenges, however, trustees commended district chief financial officer Lisa Hals on a job well done.

“(Auditors) go out of their way to let us know how lucky we are to have someone of her caliber working on this,” trustee chairman Steve Youngdahl said.
