"Mom's Rocket... lay(s) down the chugging chords without much regard for the flavor-of-the-month indie gimmicks"

- Matt Driscoll, Weekly Volcano

That's how one Tacoma-area music critic describes Mom's Rocket, a western Washington band set to rock the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center Thursday night.

The Rock @ The JACC show begins at 7:30 at the center, 405 N. William St., Post Falls.

Mom's Rocket got its start in an Olympia basement, when members got together to do acoustic jams.

"In no time at all they escalated into a full on rock band...and the rocket was launched," states the group's online bio. "Mom's Rocket is a high octane mix of all that's quintessential about true, blue, stomping hard rock."

For three years, Mom's rocket was the house band for Seattle Sports Radio 950 KJR, and their music receives frequent play the city's local radio stations.

Tickets for the show at the JACC are $15/adults and $10/students, military and seniors 55-plus.

Tickets can be purchased by phone, (208) 457-8950, or online, www.thejacklincenter.org.
