Since you are obviously tiring of puns, why not try some repartee with “Mr. Editor Person” at the dinner table. That’s always fun.
For a good start, read “viva la repartee,” by Dr. Mardy Grothe, who also wrote “oxymoronica.” (The lack of caps are his, and he explains the language admixture of the first title in the book.)
I guarantee language mavens like yourselves will enjoy these books.
It’s good to be back up in the Northwest out of southern California (winter home of snowbirds) reading your column again. Always thoughtful, often entertaining!
Pardon the low tech, stubby pencil type communication. Mrs. Office Mgr/Family Matriarch is the computer person in this family. I don’t have time to be expert at everything and still have time to read the paper.
