Pastors should be working to stop abortion in U.S.

I write in reference to March 23 article by Pastors Sandler, Pierson, and Woods as they spoke out against violence to the medical clinic.

To start by saying you are not taking a position regarding abortion is a sin of the highest order. Your calling as pastors is to preach the Word of the Lord. I have to believe that is the promise you made to God.

The words you used in this article, “moral high ground,” “Christ followers,” “civil discourse,” “deplorable,” “core value of love” — all disgust me in the manner that you used them.

The only thing you pastors should be writing about is the fact that by performing abortions, Dr. Cahill takes the life of unborn children in her practice and that this is against God’s Sixth Commandment. That is the public discourse you should be fostering. Your apologizing to Cahill is absurd. You should be apologizing to God and asking Him to forgive you that you cannot stand up for the life of the unborn child. You say in your article that to many readers your apology might seem like an obvious statement.

The obvious statement you make to me in your article is that you all are not on God’s side. The civil discourse by God-fearing folks is obviously not working since 56 million (and counting) babies have been killed since 1973. It is not working because of government bought and paid for 501(c)3 tax-exempt pastors like you who will not stand up and preach the Word of God, but rather preach the word of government.

Your job has been and is to end the business of abortion.

Where are your letters to the editor regarding these despicable acts? Show us where you testified before the United States Congress to do away with Roe v. Wade, or where you wrote to your senators to state your case against Roe v. Wade? This is where your energy is to be placed, not placating an abortionist. You pastors make me sick.

You talk about the trauma and violence that Cahill had to endure. Give me a break! How about the trauma of the unborn? Dismembering limbs, having its brain sucked out and whatever other ugly unfathomable things these so-called abortion doctors do to a fellow human being. What about the oath a doctor takes, “First do no harm”?

How will you justify to the Lord your work here on earth on judgment day?

OPINION: Talking to those who are burdened by guilt over their role in abortion

When I walk around our town and in and out of stores I am quite often wearing a shirt with a message: “ABORTION IS MURDER.” Some folks walking by have a tendency to turn away after noticing the message and it makes me wonder, “What’s on your mind?”
