Signs designed to discourage solicitors backfire

A man calling the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Tahoe Drive Monday said he recently posted signs on his property to discourage religious solicitors, and now religious solicitors are leaving their materials all over his fence.

There was a report of a business being vandalized with spray paint on West Evergreen Drive.

A neighbor to a house on Airport Road that has been vacant for a couple of years reported that someone broke into the house through a glass door.

A woman calling from Poplar Drive said she is being repeatedly harassed by a neighbor.

There was a report of a boat motor being stolen sometime in recent days from a location on U.S. 2 East.

A woman calling from the West Glacier area reported that tools were stolen from her by a former employee.

A man was arrested on warrants and bail jumping at a location on South Cedar Drive.

A man called from a location on Montana 83 near Bigfork to complain about a neighbor’s goats being in his yard.

A woman reported her car as being stolen after she lent it several days ago to a man who has failed to return it.

A grandmother reported that a man with a white beard approached her seven-year-old granddaughter in the woods behind her home off U.S. 2 in the Marion area, and the man told the girl that if she returned he would “grab her.”

A Kila Hill resident reported that he caught a neighbor’s dog killing his chickens. Soon after, the neighbor called to report that the chicken owner showed up at his house with a gun threatening to shoot his dog. The chicken owner later claimed he was carrying the rifle for protection from the dog, which he considers dangerous.

A man calling from the Canyon Creek Road area reported that he had been assaulted by a woman who gave him a bloody nose and a bloody lip.

After a man reported that he had been assaulted by a woman off U.S. 2 East, the woman was arrested on a warrant and a bail jumping charge.


Kalispell Police got a report Monday about two intoxicated men in a store on First Avenue West North trying to sell barbed wire that was suspected of being stolen. The two men agreed to leave the store.

A woman was caught attempting to steal jewelry and sunglasses from a location on U.S. 93 South.

A person calling from Woodland Avenue reported damage to a raft trailer, and it was believed that it was struck by another vehicle some time over the weekend.

Tuesday, at about 2:30 a.m., there was a report of a camper catching fire next to a house on Beargrass Lane and Honeysuckle Lane. The fire was knocked down and no adjacent structures were damaged.


Whitefish Police got a call Monday from a Colorado Avenue resident who said someone attempted to steal his vehicle, but instead stole a Jeep belonging to a neighbor. The caller said he captured the theft on camera.

A woman who works at a Central Avenue business reported that a man has been continually harassing her at work. The man was contacted and advised to leave the woman alone.

A man calling from a Montana Avenue residence reported that he and his wife were attacked by their son. The son was later located and arrested for partner-family member assault.

Early Tuesday, at about 3 a.m., a Lakeside Boulevard resident reported being disturbed by a man who was outside running around and screaming for about 20 minutes.

Columbia Falls Police got a report Monday from an Eighth Avenue East North resident who said her roommate has been stealing money and makeup from her.
