Pilot named top small weekly newspaper

The Whitefish Pilot was named the best weekly newspaper in Montana for its circulation size at the annual Montana Newspaper Association awards banquet Saturday in Butte.

The Pilot was awarded the General Excellence award in Division 2 for weekly newspapers with a circulation of 1,500 to 3,499.

The Pilot staff also earned first place awards for best overall website, best front page design, best sports writing and best feature photo. Second place awards were earned for best news photo and best page design.

Entries in the Better Newspaper Contest were judged by the Nevada Press Association.
