Shooting victim arrested

QUINCY – A Quincy man who was shot on June 3 during an argument was arrested by police after a check of his record.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Quincy Police Department responded to 4th Ave. SE and G St. SE on a report of one person being shot.

The victim was taken via ambulance to the Quincy Valley Medical Center. According to Police Chief Bob Heimbach, he was arguing with a subject in a green Honda with dark tinted windows prior to being shot.

Investigators are looking for any witnesses to the incident and/or any information about the green Honda. The victim does have ties to a local gang, Heimbach said.?

The victim, Josh Avalos, age 22, sustained a non-life threatening injury. He was later taken to the Grant County Jail on an unrelated warrant for a Department of Corrections Violation. ?
