Columbia Falls Lions Club Community Concert in the Park

Concerts are at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the Don Lawrence amphitheater in Marantette Park along U.S. 2 East in Columbia Falls. Picnics are encouraged; bring chairs and blankets. A donation of $3 each or $5 per family is requested. In case of rain, the concert moves to St. Richard’s Catholic Church on U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls.

Ashley Creek Ramblers 

 June 19

 The country band Ashley Creek Ramblers were created when four veteran musicians gathered at the Bigfork home of a friend. Each player had at least 25 years of experience making music, and they discovered they had great chemistry and and enjoyed working together.

The original quartet of musicians includings singer and songwriter Roy Wilhelm, on lead guitar and vocals; singer and songwriter Pam Leisinger, on rhythm guitar and vocals; veteran drummer and bass player Doyle Wells, and Gary Grafe on electric bass guitar and backup vocals. Clara Wieck has joined the group since it began on fiddle and backup vocals; and Ken Campbell plays steel guitar. 

The Ashley Creek Ramblers have kept busy playing local night clubs, private parties and various festivals, and often play for Saturday-night dancing at the Eagles in Kalispell.

Montana Midnight Guitar Trio

June 26

 The Montana Midnight Guitar Trio plays all kinds of music — classical, contemporary, and jazz — on nylon string guitars. They have expanded their repertoire to include rock and pop with percussion and vocals. 

Paul Gonsorchik teaches guitar in Kalispell and Whitefish, David Murdock is a physician in Kalispell, and Mike Streeter is a sixth-grade teacher in Whitefish. 

The group has played numerous concerts, weddings, and special events throughout Northwest Montana for the last 11 years.

Kenny James Miller Band

June 24,  7 to 9 p.m. 

The Kenny James Miller Band is a trio of professional, accomplished musicians who write and play original rock songs, with a strong blues and funk influence.  

After releasing the “Revelator” CD in 2010, Mark Cornett was brought in as their new bass player and they just released a new original song and video, “Thank You, Lucille,” a tribute to B.B. King and his guitar Lucille.

All three Kenny James Miller Band trio performers — Mark Miller on drums, Ken Sederdahl on guitar and Cornett  — were nominated as the best in their respective individual categories at the 2013 Inland-Empire Blues Society Empire Awards in Spokane and bassist Cornett won his category. 

The Kenny James Miller Band was also given an Empire Award as Best New Blues Band in 2011.

 God Fearing Women

June 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Latin-infused, original reggae rock from songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Dana Griffith and drummer/percussionist Neil Batterson (Cocinando). The music is unique and familiar at the same time and attracts fans of many genres. 

THURSDAY!FEST

5 to 8 p.m.,  on Second Avenue East between First and Second Streets East, in front of the Museum at Central School.

June 26, Andre Floyd and Mood Iguana

Andre Floyd is an original blues artist with three original CDs to his credit. His latest release "Project 2o12" shows his versatility as a blues artist with 10 new originals and some unique remakes of songs like “Gloria” by Van Morrison and “Highway 61 Revisited” by Bob Dylan. Floyd is a popular musician and a cultural minister of the arts in Western Montana. He regularly tours with his band Mood Iguana, both regionally and nationally.
