MOSES LAKE - Fourth District Congressional candidate Janéa Holmquist of Moses Lake received a coveted endorsement last week from Human Life PAC, the leading pro-life organization in the state of Washington.

It was the culmination of a good streak for Holmquist. She had recently received the highest possible National Rifle Association (NRA) rating and a perfect 100 percent voting record with the Washington Retail Association.

"We are pleased to recognize her for being a strong advocate for our members by removing barriers that threaten their economic health and success," said WRA President and CEO Jan Teague. "Thanks to her support, we enjoyed successes including no general tax increases and preserving the non-resident sales tax exemption."

Previously, there were endorsements from: National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), Hunters Heritage Council, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors (SMACNA), Washington State Patrol Troopers Association (WSPTA), Washington Association of Vehicle Subagents (WAVS), Washington Trucking Association (WTA), REC Silicon and Columbia Basin Railroad.

The NRA awarded Holmquist the highest possible "A" rating for her legislative voting record and stance on issues relating to gun rights. The NRA is the world's leading firearms education organization and has been the nation's staunch defender of Second Amendment rights.

JanŽa is a lifetime member of the NRA, a gun owner and an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment. As State Senator, she has helped to stop proposals in the Legislature that sought to require background checks for gun show purchases.

"I am honored to have earned the highest rating by the NRA and the coveted endorsement of the Hunters Heritage Council, reflecting my commitment to one of our most fundamental rights," Holmquist said. "Voters can be assured that when elected to Congress, I will be diligent in defending and safeguarding the Second Amendment at every opportunity."

Senator Janéa Holmquist is the youngest woman ever elected to the Washington State Senate. She was raised in the eastern Washington communities of George and Colville.

Holmquist graduated from Gonzaga University and the University of Idaho's Energy Policy Planning Program. She resides in Grant County with her husband Matt, and their son Makaio.
