Larry went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Hospice House of North Idaho after a 12 week battle with pancreatic cancer.

Larry was born June 5, 1939, in San Diego, Calif., to Lawrence Neil Christie and Jeraldine Christie Brown.

Larry married Shirley Savage in 1961, in San Fernando, Calif., and they had two children, Brent and Joy. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary just this past April.

Larry was a fervent Christian, believing that faith in Jesus Christ was the only way to heaven, and shared that truth with many over the years. Larry and Shirley attended His Place Evangelical Free Church in Post Falls for the past 18 years. They were also Harley Davidson owners, and together they traveled the western United States and Canada every summer for 11 years; their memories are many.

In 1984, Larry and Shirley moved to Post Falls from Simi Valley, Calif., when Larry transfered with Sears, who he was employed by for 31 years before his retirement in 1996.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Jeraldine; his grandparents, and his son, Brent J. Christie, who he has now been reunited with in heaven. He leaves behind his wife, Shirley; daughter, Joy Christie Harmon; grandsons: Brandon Purse (Melissa), and Justin Purse; great grandchildren: Braxton Harris, and Kane, Karter, and Kennedy Purse; great grandchildren of the heart: Kaley Trejos and Brylee and Brayden Dresser.

Larry's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 28, at His Place Church, 3079 E. 16th St., Post Falls, Idaho. Inurnment will be in the Veterans Niche Wall at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho.
