Mary Louise Buckley Sweeten, 79, left us to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 19, 2014.

Mary was born December 12, 1934, in Hastings, Neb., where she was raised with eight brothers and sisters. While working at the local movie theatre she met Melvin D. Sweeten. They were married on October 2, 1954.

Mary and Melvin started their family in Hastings, before moving on to California, Oregon, and Wyoming, finally ending up in Hayden, Idaho. Mary was a stay-at-home mom raising eight children. She never learned how to drive, and her children were okay with that.

Mary enjoyed watching her soap operas, camping, and sitting outside on sunny days. She loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow while bragging about them to whoever would listen.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; sisters, Betty Hamouz and Helen Schmidt; and brother, John Buckley. She is survived by her children: son, Larry Sweeten (Cathy), of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, daughter, Sherri Bourbon, of Post Falls, Idaho, daughter, Terri Olson (Denny), of Casper, Wyo., daughter, Cindy Bryant (Dennis), of Casper, Wyo., daughter, Rosemary Terry, of Denver, Colo., son, Jerry Sweeten, of Seattle, Wash., son, Carl Sweeten (Belinda), and most loved baby daughter, Carla Schelin (Curtis); brothers: Pat, Jim, Jerry, and Bill Buckley, and sister, Peggy Braunsdorf; 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
