MOSCOW - Miranda Forry has joined the Idaho women's basketball staff as an assistant coach, Idaho coach Jon Newlee announced Friday.
Forry spent last season as the director of women's basketball operations at UC Irvine and served in the same capacity at Pacific from 2011-2013. UC Irvine went 17-15 in 2013-14, earning a fourth-place finish in the Big West. In 2012-13, Pacific won the Big West regular season championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the WNIT.
"Miranda is an incredible addition to our coaching staff," Newlee said. "She will bring high energy and amazing passion for the game of basketball to our program. I have great faith in Miranda and know she will be a huge asset as we look to continue to win more championships in the future."
Forry is a 2008 graduate of UC Irvine where she was captain on the women's basketball team and earned her B.A. in sociology and education. She earned her M.A. in sport management from Pacific in 2013.
Prior to joining the staff at Pacific, Forry spent two seasons as an assistant coach at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco from 2009-2011, and also coached at Hall of Fame coach Tara Vanderveer's summer camp.
