SANDPOINT — An up-to-$50,000 Idaho Gem Grant could open new doors in the effort to improve business development in town.

Council members authorized Planning and Zoning Director Jeremy Grimm to apply for a grant from the Idaho Department of Commerce, which manages the Idaho Gem grant program to promote economic development in rural Idaho towns. If successfully acquired, the grant will probably be used to install improvements for tenants of the city-owned Bonner Business Center facility.
