ANNIVERSARIES
Karl and Claudia Wetter
60th Anniversary
Karl and Claudia Wetter celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
Claudia was raised in Fairfield, Wash., and Karl was raised in Plummer. They started dating while she was attending Washington State University as he was attending nearby University of Idaho.
They were married at the Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. They lived in Tekoa, Wash., for about two months before he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the occupation of Germany. While he was in Germany, Claudia worked as a secretary in Spokane.
Upon returning home they moved to St. Maries, where he taught the eighth grade during the school year of 1956 and 1957.
The following year they moved to Plummer, where he was employed as a high school principal. After 22 years of teaching there and farming 500 acres, he retired on their hay and cattle ranch.
Claudia was also employed at the high school library and they raised three children; Timothy, Jody Lynn and Roger. They now have two grandchildren, Kristen and Daniel who were raised near Sacramento, Calif., by Tim.
In 2004 they built a retirement home on the hill just south of Plummer; overlooking the Plummer Valley. They enjoy living on their tree farm.
They attribute their long and successful marriage to the fact that they always help one another and have been able to set aside their disagreements.
Donn and Doniece Dennis
50th anniversary
Donn and Doniece Dennis were married on June 28, 1964, at First United Methodist Church in Coeur d'Alene.
They will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a celebration hosted by their children, Jeff and Dawn Dennis, Bill and Susan Radobenko, and Adam and Karen Graves. The occasion will be held at the home of the Radobenkos.
Donn and Doniece are longtime residents of Dalton Gardens and have enjoyed watching their grandchildren: Chase Bloom, Peyton Dennis, Nick and Brandon Radobenko, and Ella Jo and Oliver Graves, grow up.
