Delvin Durf Fueller, 75

Delvin “Durf” Fueller, 75, of Post Falls, Idaho, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 20, 2014.?Delvin was born December 6, 1938, in Turtle Lake, N.D., to Jacob Fueller and Helen Schock Fueller. He was raised on the family farm north of Turtle Lake, and graduated from Turtle Lake High School.
Delvin entered the Navy in the spring of 1953 and was stationed for a time in the Mediterranean. It was while serving in the Navy that his buddy gave him the nickname “Durf.” Later, Delvin met the love of his life, Cinda Ann Engelstad.
Delvin and Cinda were married on December 9, 1967, in Antler, N.D. Together, they raised their four children in Mandan, N.D. Delvin worked at Pat’s Foods in Mandan until 1989, when they moved to Idaho.
Delvin was overjoyed to have all four of his children relocate to Idaho to be close to him. He retired from Rosauers in Coeur d’Alene in 2000.?Delvin was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Post Falls. He loved his southern gospel music, and sharing it with his church family. He enjoyed cooking his German specialties and sharing them with his friends and family.
Delvin's greatest joy was his family and being able to spend time with them. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.?Delvin was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Helen; brother, Marvin Fueller; sister, Lavina Zingg; stepfather, Fred Fischer; in-laws, Chester and Hazel Engelstad; and two brothers-in-law, Gary Engelstad and Richard Paul.
Delvin is survived by his wife, Cinda; children: Troy (Deanna) Fueller, of Hayden, Idaho; Tanya (Darryl) Frey, of Post Falls, Idaho; Tricia (David) Dykes, of Rathdrum, Idaho; and Terry Fueller, of Hayden, Idaho; three grandchildren: Tyler Fueller, Rachel Dykes and Bethany Frey; one brother, Wilbert (Alvina) Fueller, of Bismarck, N.D; six brothers-in-law: Monty Zingg, Bill (Bobbi) Engelstad, Lynn (Robyn) Engelstad, Jim (Connie) Engelstad, Kevin (Sharon) Engelstad, and Todd (Cindy) Engelstad; three sisters-in-law: Crystal (Wayne) Johnson, Char Garrett, and Karen Paul; step-siblings: Wilbur (Anita) Fischer, Darvin (Ella) Fischer, Myron (Bev) Fischer, Delma Kost, and Doris Fischer; and many nieces and nephews.?Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Tuesday, at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, at Peace Lutheran Church, Pastor Kurt Wandrey officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
