MOSES LAKE - With loud, precise stomping, articulate and commanding calls and swift, military-like movements, children from across the state competed at the Washington State Eagles Youth Convention Drill Team competition held at Frontier Middle School on Saturday.

The event was one of many during the youth convention, as the state Fraternal Order of Eagles chose Moses Lake to host the event for the fifth consecutive year.

Children and parents from across the state and Idaho competed in air rifle, bowling, billiards, drill team and talent competitions during the weekend at various locations around Moses Lake.

Local F.O.E. chapter member Rich Kennedy said the event is great way for Moses Lake to showcase its facilities and wonderful late spring weather.

Event organizer Diane Larson said that Moses Lake is a perfect host, because of its wonderful people, warm, small town feeling and great facilities.

Organizers thanked the Moses Lake Eagles No. 2622 chapter and Moses Lake School District for their help.

Event results were unavailable at press time.
