Betty Jean Moran, 79
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 7 months AGO
Betty Jean Moran went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 17, 2014.
The youngest of 10 children, Betty was born May 4, 1935, in McComb, Miss., to Robert E. and Maude Eva Chunn. She spent her formative years in McComb and then moved to Western Washington in 1961 where she lived, and enjoyed being with her friends and family, for over 20 years.
Betty met the love of her life, Eugene Moran, in 1986, and they were married in 1989. That fall, Betty and Eugene moved to North Idaho where she lived out the rest of her days.
Betty's hobbies were gardening, cooking, sewing and playing the piano; but her true passion was her family and friends. Known to many as their adopted "mom" or "granny," Betty loved everyone she met and they loved her.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Moran; sister, Ruby Ballard; children: Shirley (Nevada) VanVolkenburg, Roger (Mary) Bostick, Steve (Jacque) White, and Darlene White (fiance' Ian Miller); niece (who was more like a daughter), Paula Moe; grandchildren: Sonja (Aaron) Hansen, Joey VanVolkenburg, Tiffany (John) Hein, Travis (Bryony) White, Kora, Lexi, Brooke and Nicolle Young, Aidan and Savannah Miller; great grandchildren: Steven Bedker, Brandon, Sam, Rosealyn and Emily VanVolkenburg, Alissa, Anna and Joella Hein, Nelson, Dallas and Jared White, and Daniel Young.
Betty was a truly beautiful and amazing woman, who touched countless lives. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her and loved her. 2 Timothy 4: 6-8 "For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing."
Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
