C-Falls takes second at tourney

The Columbia Falls 12U All Stars baseball team made it to the championship game versus Whitefish during a tournament in Columbia Falls on June 14-15.

Columbia Falls won four straight to make it to the final, playing a triple header June 15 because of rainy weather before losing to Whitefish, 8-4.  

Team members include Chance Butzlaff, Trenton Tyree, Preston Trenerry, Gage Redd, Camryn Lingle, Jackson Heinz, Ayden Role, Derek Kjensrud, Jake Bulawsky Bobby Dewbre, Hunter Underdahl and JJ Moye.

The team is showing great improvement and has been practicing hard at improving their skills this season.

Uphill skiers need to be aware of avalanches on Big Mtn.

Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
