POST FALLS - The Post Falls Police Victim Services Unit has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance.

The VSU, formerly named OASIS, has been assisting crime victims for 20 years. It provides 24-hour crisis intervention services to victims of crime, specializing in assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and child abuse. Some of the services VSU provides include crisis intervention, emergency domestic violence shelter, a weekly support group, crime victim compensation and general resources.

This funding will allow the two current full-time crime victim advocates to continue providing 24-hour crisis services, educational outreach, private counseling for child victims of crime and community outreach.

The VSU 24-hour crisis line is 773-1080.
