ROYAL CITY - Royal City has been awarded $2,347.50 and Mattawa $1,760.63 from CHS Country Operations' CHS Harvest for Hunger food, funds and grain drive this year.

CHS Sun Basin and CHS Connell Grain Growers joined other CHS locations across the country in raising more than $512,000 and 443,000 pounds of food for hungry families. CHS is the nation's leading farmer-owned cooperative.

Since the program's launch in 2011, more than $1.6 million and 2.1 million pounds of food have been raised. Donations collected went to regional food banks.

Local CHS locations held Hot Dog BBQs, Yard Sales, Bowling tournaments and a Roller Skating Party to help raise food and funds for this year's Harvest for Hunger.

"Giving back to the communities in which we live and work is a core value for us," said says Nick White, V.P., PNW Regional Director. "We're so proud of our employees, customers and partners who contributed to help feed hungry families. It's exciting to be part of this effort and see how much our communities care about those in need,"

In addition, CHS Country Operations boosted donations to CHS Harvest for Hunger through additional contributions to local communities to help friends and neighbors.

CHS Sun Basin and CHS Connell Grain Growers are business units of CHS Inc. a leading global agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States. Diversified in energy, grains and foods, CHS is committed to helping its customers, farmer-owners and other stakeholders grow their businesses through its domestic and global operations.

CHS, a Fortune 100 company, supplies energy, crop nutrients, grain marketing services, animal feed, food and food ingredients, along with business solutions including insurance, financial and risk management services.

The company operates petroleum refineries/pipelines and manufactures, markets and distributes Cenex® brand refined fuels, lubricants, propane and renewable energy products.

"We hope to communicate to the public the depth of the CHS enterprise and how we care about the communities in which we do business", White said.
