SANDPOINT — A Bonner County teen is facing adult criminal charges after crashing his overloaded car while allegedly returning from an underage drinking party in the Cabinet Mountains early Thursday morning.

Jaycob Jess Almeda, 17, is charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of an injury crash and driving without privileges, according to court documents.

The crash occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on Center Valley Road.

Authorities learned of the crash after several of the teens in the car turned up at Bonner General Health’s emergency room, according to a probable cause affidavit.
