Man injured in snowmobile accident

A 45-year-old Spokane male was transported to Kootenai Health via MedStar when he was thrown off his snowmobile and struck by another snowmobile at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the area of Forest Service Road 2320 and Marie Saddle, near the Skitwish Warming Hut.

Brian Davisson was operating his snowmobile and was ejected from his sled when he hit a snow drift and was struck by a snowmobile that was behind him, reported the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. Deputies from the KCSO Recreation Safety Section and personnel from the Kootenai County EMS and Kootenai County Fire and Rescue along with MedStar personnel responded.

Davisson was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is still ongoing.
