SANDPOINT — It’s difficult for Tom Albertson of Sandpoint High School to take credit for being named Idaho’s assistant principal of the year.

That’s because making the high school a great learning environment is a ’round-the-clock team effort, he said. Nevertheless, he considers his selection for the statewide award a true honor.

“(Winning awards) isn’t why I go to work each day, but when you’re nominated for them, it’s a very humbling experience,” he said.
