A 37-year-old Martin City man accidentally shot and killed himself on Sunday, March 1.

Edward Schramm was cleaning his .223-caliber AR-15-type rifle around 3:55 a.m. when he shot himself, a witness reported.

“He was examining a rifle and it accidentally discharged and shot him in the face,” said Flathead County Det. Dick Sine, the on-duty coroner who responded to the incident at the Central Avenue home.

Sine said there was no suspicion of foul play.
