My name is Doug Adams and I’m running as a Republican for Montana House District 5. Why? Because I love the Whitefish area and it would be an honor to serve you.

I have been involved in youth soccer, served in church ministry, served on a private school board, and served as deputy mayor, city council member, parks board member, tree committee member, chairman of the pedestrian and bike path committee, and currently serve as the city’s easement negotiator for the bike path system. I also am currently serving as vice-president of the Glacier Country Pachyderm Club.

Having served on the Whitefish City Council, I’m somewhat familiar with the legislative process. I enjoy it and I think I can be an effective legislator.

It’s one thing to bring bills into committee, but it’s another thing to get them passed. To accomplish this, one has to be a leader, one has to be persuasive, and the bills have to have their merits. In the whirlwind of activity that is the legislative session, there’s no time for busy work. Every minute counts and I intend to spend my time representing District 5 effectively.

I’m interested in hearing what is important to you. What are your concerns with state government? Spending? Taxes? Fiscal responsibility? The economy? What issues do you want to see the 2015 Legislature address?
