CONNOR VANDERWEYST | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 10 years, 8 months AGO
YAKIMA - The top cowboys and cowgirls in the Northwest will be returning to Yakima in November.
The Columbia Circuit Finals Rodeo will take place at the Yakima Valley SunDome Nov. 7 and 8.
The rodeo was previously held in Redmond, Ore. after it had been held in the SunDome throughout the 1990's.
"We're excited to be coming back to Washington State, and to bring this great rodeo back to the SunDome," said Rowdy Barry, President of the Columbia River Circuit. "Central Washington is great rodeo country and we're looking forward to putting on a fantastic show for everyone."
The Columbia River Circuit Finals will showcase the top 12 cowboys and cowgirls in events such as bareback, saddle bronc, tie down roping, bull riding, team roping, barrel racing and steer wrestling.
Contestants will be competing for a spot at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City.
"We are thrilled and excited to have the CRC Finals coming back to Yakima after a 14 year absence," SunDome manager Greg Lybeck said. "The SunDome is a perfect venue for rodeo, giving fans a close-up view of all the action."
According to Barry, tickets to the CRC Finals Rodeo will be available in May.
