MOSES LAKE - Long time Moses Lake area businessman Tom Dent has announced he will run for the 13th District House of Representatives seat being vacated by Rep. Judy Warnick, who has opted to run for the state senate.

"I have contacted many citizens within the 13th district and am humbled by the support I have received," Dent said. "I look forward to representing the citizens of the 13th district and the issues that are key to them."

Dent is a commercial pilot and flight instructor. He has spent many hours in the air over much of the 13th district.

In addition to being in the crop protection and enhancement business, Dent has a small hay, cattle and buffalo ranch. He has been involved with various business organizations, church and youth activities, as well as serving as Chair of the Grant County Republican Party for several years.

Dent has lived and worked in the Columbia Basin most all of his life, moving to the area in 1955 when he was five years old.

His many years as an agricultural pilot have allowed him to be involved with a variety of issues associated with production agriculture.
