Deal goes south; money goes AWOL

Kalispell Police got a call Monday from a man on Ninth Avenue West who said another man stole $1,200 from him. The reporting party said the two had a plan to invest the money, but the other guy took off with it.

A manager at a store on Hutton Ranch Road said three people ran off without paying for merchandise. Also, two people reported that their cars were keyed while parked at a store on Hutton Ranch Road.

A woman high-centered her vehicle on a snowbank outside of a casino on North Meridian Road. Her keys were confiscated.

Early Tuesday, at about 1:30 a.m., a woman calling from the vicinity of a bar on U.S. 2 West said she and her boyfriend were attacked by a group of about eight people. She said her boyfriend possibly had a broken nose.


The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Monday from a Splendid View Drive resident who said his garage was broken into and a chainsaw and power tools were stolen.

A variety of law enforcement officers converged on McDermott Lane Tuesday afternoon to respond to a report of a man with a weapon.

There was a report of a disturbance between a man and woman at a U.S. 2 residence in the Evergreen area. The man was apparently trying to get his belongings out of the residence.

A Frontier Trail resident reported that logs that were stacked on his property were stolen.

Someone reported seeing a person in a truck dumping a bunch of furniture in a ditch near the Kalispell City Airport.

A woman calling from Somerset Drive said that someone set fire to her car sometime last week.

A Peaceful Drive resident said that his neighbor was throwing firecrackers at him on purpose. He later said the neighbor set off a firecracker to scare him, but it wasn’t thrown.

There was a report of an intoxicated person stumbling and yelling at vehicles in the Shady Lane area.

After parents called from a 14th Street East residence to report that their 17-year-old son was freaking out on drugs, the boy was located and taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

A man called from Hungry Horse Boulevard to request that a deputy give him a ride. When he was refused, he got rude with a dispatcher.

A woman calling from U.S. 2 in Evergreen said she was struck by her ex-boyfriend.

Early Tuesday, at about 1:30 a.m., a man calling from a bar on Hungry Horse Boulevard said a woman spit in his face and physically attacked him.


A woman calling Whitefish Police from Columbia Avenue Monday wanted assistance in getting a piano she had stored at the home of her aunt, who was refusing to give it back.

There was a report of four or five people yelling and screaming at each other on Dakota Avenue. It turned out to be an argument among family members and they were advised to knock it off or be cited for disturbing the peace.


Someone calling Columbia Falls Police from Talbot Road Monday reported finding drug paraphernalia.

A man calling from Third Avenue West said a tire on his son’s vehicle was slashed sometime overnight.
