MOSES LAKE - Firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized in a convicted felon's home in Moses Lake after a neighbor reported possible shots fired.
About 2:30 a.m. Monday, police responded to a West Gem Avenue home after a woman believed she heard shots fired in the area and found several people running toward an Ivy Avenue residence.
Police entered the home for a health and welfare check due to the report of shots fired and someone inside the home not opening the front door. Once inside, officers found ammunition and drugs in plain sight. A warrant was obtained for the home and during the search, two handguns, cocaine, marijuana and scales were found and later seized, according to police reports.
Police also found at least one shell casing outside the residence.
The homeowner, Jason Salgado, 27, was booked into Grant County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, both of which occurred within 1,000 feet of Midway Elementary School. The alleged drug charges include a school zone violation enhancement.
Salgado was previously convicted on felony drug-related offenses.
Another person inside the home, Eric J. Fuentes, 20, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Spokane for third-degree driving while license suspended.
