I’d like to take this opportunity to express my support for Phil Mitchell, Republican candidate for county commissioner.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Phil and was very impressed. Phil stands for the principles I believe in. Honesty, Integrity, Individual property rights, less intrusive government, opposition to the CSKT water compact as written.

Phil believes the doughnut residents outside the city of Whitefish should be represented by the Flathead County commissioners. Phil proved this by voting to restore doughnut residents’ representation and voting rights during his time on the Whitefish City Council. Phil worked side by side with former County Commissioner Jim Dupont to try to resolve the doughnut issue and restore doughnut representation to the county residents in the doughnut area around Whitefish.

Phil was one of the few conservative voices on the Whitefish City Council. Phil stood steadfast in voting to protect property rights, voting to protect tax payer’s wallets and making sure the city kept their budget balanced and austere.

It has been a pleasure to get to know Phil Mitchell, he has an impressive history and will bring honesty and integrity to the county commissioners’ office. Phil has proven that he is not only responsible with his own money, but is very careful with taxpayers’ money as well. Therefore, I enthusiastically urge all republicans voting in the upcoming primary election to vote for Phil Mitchell, Republican candidate for county commissioner.

Water compact doesn't answer crucial questions

It is extremely important to understand and research what a “federal reserved water right” is in order to determine if the Salish and Kootenai Water Compact should be supported. Following is a basic explanation of “federally reserved water rights” based on my research:
