BILLINGS — Four Lake County athletes will compete in this weekend’s Treasure State Classic and Billings Hotel Senior Classic, statewide all-star basketball tournaments.

Ronan’s Haley O’Hern and Aspen Jore will compete for the B West team in the Treasure State Classic at Montana State University-Billings, and Jordan Ludeman of Charlo and Whitney Malatare of Arlee will compete for the C West squad in that tournament.

Jore and O’Hern, both juniors, are among the first group of non-seniors to represent their schools in the annual tournament.

The C West team opens up play against the A East team at 4 p.m. today. The B West girls begin competition against the AA East team at 8 p.m.

On the boys side, Polson's Cedrick Smith and Andrew Weltz will play for the North A team in the Billings Hotel Senior Classic at Billings Senior High School. Pirate coaches Brad Pluff and Vern Hewankorn will coach that team.

The West B team will also be coached by a Lake County skipper: Ronan boys coach Steve Woll. Chiefs senior Tim Woll will play on that squad, joined by Jarred Brown and Stuart Grant of Mission.

Charlo's Kail Pope and Arlee's Josh Reed are set to represent Lake County on the West C team.
