KENNEWICK - The 10u Moses Lake Monsters narrowly missed a first place finish at the Early Spring Classic recently.

The team steam rolled its competition before falling in the championships game to the Kennewick Rangers, 15-8.

Chance Conahan starred for the Monsters in their first game against the Yakima Valley Dirt Dawgs. Conahan threw a no hitter, struck out eight batters and Moses Lake cruised to a 12-0 victory.

Moses Lake continued its dominance with another 12-0 win, this time against the Richland Badger Bombers.

Carson Janke struck out five in two innings of work. Janke also did damage at the plate, finishing 2-3 with a triple.

The Monsters upped their offense against the Snoqualmie Crush and sprayed 21 hits en route to a 20-0 win. Jackson Purcell provided a power surge for Moses Lake with two home runs and five RBIs. Cayden Hart mystified Snoqualmie batters and finished with a one-hit shutout.

In the semifinals, Moses Lake dispatched the Kennewick Dukes, 16-4.

Janke struck out seven batter in three innings and helped his own cause with a two-run blast.

Purcell and Hart went 3-4 and 2-4, respectively, in the championship game.
