HELENA (AP) — The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security have been called in to help police and the Lewis and Clark County sheriff’s office investigate a series of bomb threats to Helena schools that led to the cancellation of classes on Friday.
Superintendent Kent Kultgen says someone called dispatchers at about 8:30 a.m. Friday saying there was a bomb in all the schools in the city. School officials evacuated all of the students and cancelled classes for the day.
A threat called in on Wednesday said there was a bomb in a Helena elementary school while on Monday a caller said there was a bomb in the Capital High School gym. No explosives were found.
Sheriff Leo Dutton said the federal agencies are helping with the effort to identify the caller or callers.
