Auditions set for French farce 'Boeing Boeing' in Whitefish
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 10 years, 10 months AGO
The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for its final season production, “Boeing Boeing,” on April 7-8 at 7 p.m. at the O'Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Arrive early to the theater to fill out an audition application and review the script.
“Boeing Boeing” is a Tony Award-winning 1960s French farce that features a glamour-boy architect named Bernard who simultaneously juggles French, German and American fiancées, each beautiful airline hostesses. Tracking their airlines' timetables and scheduling non-convergent “layovers,” Bernard keeps “one up, one down and one pending” until an unexpected guest and the introduction of a speedier Boeing jet bring all three to Paris and his apartment at the same time. Called “pure pleasure” by the New York Times, “Boeing Boeing” is a side-splitting unraveling of careful romantic planning.
The cast will be composed of three women and two men, ages 20 to mid-40s. No experience is necessary and no preparation is required for the audition.
Gail Cleveland is the director for this production. Total time commitment for this production is approximately six weeks of rehearsal Monday through Friday. There are seven cabaret performances over two weekends on May 28-31 and June 5-7.
