The Badgers varsity girls softball team traveled to face Sandpoint’s varsity team on the evening of March 25.

With overcast skies and relatively nice temperatures, the Bulldogs started out with a three-run rally in the first inning. Sandpoint followed with two runs in the second and Bonners Ferry was unable to put any runs on the board as the Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead.

Senior pitcher MaKenzie Carle and freshman catcher Avery Lane accumulated three strikeouts, two looking, in the course of the game.

The Bulldogs offensive proved too much for the Badgers with four more runs in the fourth inning and three more in the sixth, totaling 12.

The Badgers never gave up though, scoring two runs late in the sixth inning. Carle and Gabby Blackmore crossed the plate with RBI’s credited to Blackmore and Chantel Coon. The game ended in the sixth inning due to the ten-run rule at a score of 2-12.
