Salt Lake takes first two from Cardinals: NIC softball

SALT LAKE CITY - Madison Anthony had three hits, including a solo home run leading off the third inning for the North Idaho College Cardinals, who lost 11-6 and 4-1 to Salt Lake in a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon.
In the first game, NIC committed seven errors, with five coming in Salt Lake's five-run sixth inning to stretch a 6-5 hole to 11-5.
In the second game, Megan Reed and Courtney Beavers had two RBIs each for the Bruins (22-12, 20-9 SWAC) in the win.
Kylene Hatton scored on an groundout by Hayden Fields in the second game for NIC (20-15, 15-11).
The teams play again today.
