SANDPOINT — Farmin Park filled with raised hands and murmured “amens” as hundreds gathered Thursday for the National Day of Prayer.
Attendees showed up eager to participate in the music, fellowship and, of course, the event’s raison d’etre: prayer. According to Ken Lawrence of River of Life Church, Sandpoint churchgoers joined more than 42,000 other gatherings held across the nation in praying for their communities, the nation, educators, the mass media, the military and more.
