New disc golf course opens in Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — When Brandon Kaastad came to the first tee at Baldfoot this week, he not only had a handful of discs ready to be launched, but a couple of trees as well.

After flinging his opening drive on the new 36 hole disc golf course, Kaastad grabbed a shovel and planted a couple of small trees around the first tee box while waiting for his buddy. It’s exactly the type of grass roots, volunteer effort from scores of locals that helped create the new challenging track.
