SANDPOINT — Hickory Street Park will be looking a little brighter in the next few months following a partnership between the city, Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society and Lake Pend Oreille High School.

With the society’s decision to offer the school a $300 grant to improve the nearby Hickory Street Park, the school is preparing to plant and care for native plants as both an educational and social service project. The two organizations worked closely with the city to develop a plan that will keep the plants a well-tended and attractive addition to the park.
