Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 10 years, 8 months AGO
Virginia "Ginny" Lynne Gonser, 61, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 2, 2014.
Ginny was born September 26, 1952, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to Harry and Mary (Carpenter) Button. She graduated from Post Falls High School in 1971. After 22 years at Hewlett Packard/Agilent, she returned to school for medical training and worked as a transcriptionist and receptionist for doctors in the Coeur d’Alene area, most recently Dr. Baker of Hayden.
On May 14, 1994, Ginny married her high school sweetheart, William John Gonser, at the Blackwell House in Coeur d'Alene. Their honeymoon was delayed due to the purchase of their new home, but they were eventually able to take her dream trip to Australia 10 years later.
Ginny enjoyed photography, crocheting, crafts, camping, and spoiling her girls and husband. She had a big heart that enveloped everyone who came near her. Between crocheting blankets for dialysis patients, putting together craft projects for her high school reunions and finding the perfect gift for a gathering, she was always thinking about others and how she could make their lives better.
Ginny is survived by her husband, William "John" Gonser, at home; daughter, Jessica Daniels and wife Sarah, of Bellingham, Wash., daughter, Kimberly Andrews and partner Michael Wolcott, of Kent, Wash., mother, Mary Galloway, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; stepmother, Mary Button, of Post Falls, Idaho; sister, Bonnie Clock, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; brother, Ed Button, of Moscow, Idaho; and her two little dogs, Tilly and Teddy.
Memorial service will be at noon, Saturday, May 10, at the English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with the reception following at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge hall, 1520 Government Way, Coeur d’Alene.
