THOMAS: Honorable and trustworthy

I am writing in support of Laurie Thomas, Republican, for Kootenai County Treasurer. Laurie has honorably represented all of us as Deputy Treasurer for the past 13 years. She respects and enforces the checks and balances established for county government, she has an undeniable belief in limited government as a fiscal conservative, and safety of principal is her primary goal when considering investments with the taxpayer’s money.

Laurie’s opponent describes a career of derivative products on his print material and websites. In fact, he acknowledges that he currently owns a Derivative Advisory business. This background creates real concerns about the risk taking he is accustomed to.

Kootenai County is solvent, and the taxpayers can be proud of how the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer have diligently protected public funds during the historically low interest rate environment. Trust in Laurie Thomas for Treasurer. Please Vote May 20.
