Voters re-elect FVCC incumbents

Two Flathead Valley Community College trustees won re-election in Tuesday’s election.

Thomas K. Harding and John M. Phelps, both of Whitefish, were elected to serve three-year terms ending in May 2017 representing the Columbia Falls, Bigfork and Whitefish school districts.

Harding received 1,060 votes and Phelps 1,012 in the seven-candidate race.

Other candidate totals were:

Marion K. Foley — 1,006 votes

R. Scott Sorensen — 598 votes

Thomas Brett Sward — 411 votes

John D. Fuller — 408 votes

Robert A. Webb — 341 votes

Election results will be validated following the canvass of the election at a special meeting of the board of trustees at noon Friday on the college’s Kalispell campus.
