Glacier National Park snowplows have advanced past Haystack Creek and soon will work toward the Big Bend area on Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Another plow crew went to work on the east side of Sun Road this week, reaching Jackson Glacier Overlook and working toward Siyeh Bend.
For hikers and bikers, the vehicle gate was moved from Lake McDonald Lodge to the Avalanche Campground area this week.
From Avalanche, hikers and bikers were able to travel about 6 miles during the week. On weekends, there are no restrictions for hikers and bikers on the west side of the park.
But on the east side of Sun Road, there will be no hiker-biker access due to road construction.
