POLSON — Leadoff hitter Jaylin Kenney had three hits and Kaelen Wall, Hannah Potter and Kyrie Bitterman two each to power Polson to a 7-3 Northwestern A softball victory over Columbia Falls on Saturday afternoon.

Polson banged out 14 hits and scored in every inning but the third and sixth.

Taylor Brackey drove in the first two runs of the contest in the first inning with a two-out double.

Columbia Falls came right back to tie it on a second-inning, two-out single by Peyton Kehr that scored two runners.

Polson responded in the bottom half of the second when Kenney doubled in two runners with no outs.

Polson added two more runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth.

Courtney Murray homered for Columbia Falls in the seventh inning to complete the scoring.

Jessica Bagnell (10-2) went the distance in the circle for Polson. She gave up five hits, struck out two and walked one batter.

Nine Polson batters had at least one hit off Columbia Falls pitcher Ashley Trueblood.

Potter had two of Polson’s five doubles on the day. Bitterman also doubled once.

“Offensively, I’m very pleased with that,” Polson coach Larry Smith said.

“Everybody got a hit. That’s very important.”

Defensively, Brackey had a super game in the infield.

“She had six putouts and made some great plays,” Smith said of his third baseman.

“None of them were very easy. She really plugs up that 5.5 hole.”

Polson swept the season series with Columbia Falls.

Polson (12-3 overall, 4-2 league) is back in action Friday and Saturday at the Butte Central Tournament.
