SANDPOINT — Proposed city sign code renovations are back in the workshop following a council request for further revision.

At a public comment session Wednesday, local business owners offered a fresh set of suggestions for the continued shaping of the proposed code.

Most numerous were tenants and administrators of the Cedar Street Bridge, the only individuals affected by special code for buildings spanning the width of Sand Creek. In response to public comment, council members requested a number of changes, including greater flexibility for Cedar Street Bridge signage and special event banners.

The changes were the latest in a process that’s been ongoing for well over a year. With another session of work complete, council members will consider a revised draft ordinance at the next council meeting.
