MISSOULA – The Plains Golf team competed in the Seeley-Swan Invitational in Missoula in one of their final tournaments of the regular season.
The golf team was back on the road following last week’s tournament in Thompson Falls.
Competing at the Canyon River Golf Course, the Plains boys finished eight with a team round of 389.
Head Coach Rich Magera was very positive after the invitational.
“They played great, some of the golfers shot their personal bests,” Magera said.
Jade LaDeaux followed up her strong performance at the Thompson Falls Invitational with yet another top ten finish at the Seeley-Swan Invitational.
LaDeaux shot a 105 through 18, ending her day in eighth place, just behind Abby Croft of Thompson Falls who went to the clubhouse with a score of 104.
Magera spoke highly of the course and how his golfers handled the blustery weather.
“It’s an awesome course. It got a little cold but the kids are used to spring golf,” Magera said.
Magera noted that besides an earlier tournament in St. Regis, the weather has failed to cooperate with the golfers of Plains.
On Tuesday the Plains golfers will head to Bigfork for their divisional tournament, the final competition of the year before the state tournament.
Hopefully, warmer weather follows the golf team to Eagle Bend Golf Club for the postseason tournament.
Following Divisionals, the state championship golf tournament will be held in Fairmont.
