Over the summer, local high school students will have the opportunity to earn free college credits at Flathead Valley Community College through a new program.
The Summer Experience program is designed to give students an authentic college experience.
The five-week program will include a three-credit college course, career exploration, a service project and intramural sports activities. Students will receive lunch, supplies and books.
Students will have the opportunity to pick from one of two tracks.
Track one “In the Spotlight,” includes enrollment in either Introduction to Public Speaking or Introduction to Theatre.
Track two, “Make it Count!” includes enrollment in Math for Liberal Arts.
The program is available to students entering their junior or senior year of high school in the fall. The half-day program will run three days a week July 14 through August 15.
Applications are due May 30 and enrollment in the program is limited. Applications can be picked up from high school guidance counselors, the college’s Admissions Office or online at www.fvcc.edu/summerexperience.
