GOEDDE: Earned educators' trust

Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 12 years AGO
| May 16, 2014 9:39 PM

We served with John Goedde during his term on the Board of Trustees for the Coeur d’Alene School District and know first hand John’s work ethic, dedication to high standards for all students and support for post-secondary/workforce readiness. We urge you to support his re-election as District 4 Senator.

We believe John’s experience on our school board prepared him for his current role as member and chair of the Senate Education Committee, as this committee focuses on the implementation of the new Idaho Core Standards. He knows first-hand the implementation issues at the district and the school level related to higher standards and the corresponding curriculum alignment and new student assessments.

We know John continues to be a dedicated advocate for post-secondary and workforce readiness. John served on the Governor’s Task Force for Improving Education and supported the goal “that 60 percent of Idahoans between the ages of 25 and 34 attain a post secondary degree or credential by 2020.” Additionally, John carried the legislation allowing Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Lakeland to collaborate on the joint development of K-Tech, a regional technology campus, offering college credit and industrial certification to Kootenai students.

We need John’s energetic work ethic and diligent research of an issue that we observed while on the school board continuing to work for us at the state level.

Please vote for John!
