Watch Kate Van Wingerden’s Emmy-nominated music video.

The cover of Ingrid Michaelson’s song “Everybody,” is performed by Claire Ferguson. Van Wingerden directed, photographed and edited the video.

Van Wingerden, a sophomore at Timberlake High School, and Jordyn Kronenberg, a senior at the Spirit Lake school, were each nominated for Northwest Regional High School Emmy Awards.

Kronenberg’s Emmy-nominated, serious news piece covers Timberlake’s 2013 blood drive. It features Kronenberg’s reporting, photography and editing.

The students will learn if they are Emmy Award-winners on June 7 during the 51st Annual Northwest Regional Emmy Awards Ceremony in Seattle.

High school students from Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Alaska compete for Emmy Awards given out by the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Kronenberg and Van Wingerden, the only students in the state of Idaho to be nominated this year, each participate in Tiger TV, a video production and broadcast journalism class at Timberlake.

Tiger TV students also compete in the Broadcast News Team event sponsored by Business Professionals of America. Students from Tiger TV have placed first or second in the state competition in this event for the past three years.

“Tiger TV has improved tremendously over the years. Each year the students try to outdo the previous year,” said teacher, Chris Jarstad. “ I'm so proud of the group I have this year. They have elevated the program to a new level.”
